Deadwood Historical Newspapers Index (1876-1905)
Indexes issues from 1876 to 1905 of these historic Deadwood papers: "Black Hills Pioneer," "Black Hills Times," and "Black Hills Champion". Created by the staff of the Deadwood Public Library, There are no limits to access.

World Book Online for Kids (grades K-5) provides easy-to-read encyclopedia articles and images. Also provided are interactive games, activities, science projects, biographies, maps and more. World Book Online Info Finder (grades 5-9) Search encyclopedia articles plus multi-media collections, maps, primary source documents, e-books and more. Also included are research tools and science projects. World Book Online Reference Center (grade 9-Adult) Search encyclopedia, primary source, and e-book resources. Also provides access to “how to”, computer and web tutorials, and more.

SIRS Discoverer provides selected full-text articles that support grades K-9. Every article has a summary and a reading level. SIRS Discoverer’s special features include biographies, over 3000 maps, country studies and an encyclopedia. This resource is available from your library or at home with a library card.

SIRS Issues Researcher provides selected full-text articles that support grades 6-12. "Leading Issues" provides over 300 topics including abor-tion, gun control, and capital punishment. Each Leading Issue has the topic overview, reviews the pro/con viewpoints and provides a guide for critical thinking to guide the student through the critical thinking process. Learning Express Library provides online practice tests and tutorials designed to help library patrons, students, and adult learners prepare for academic or licensing tests that they must take. It provides immediate test scoring, explanations of the answers to all questions, and the opportunity to take the tests and tutorials multiple times. This resource is available from your library or at home with a library card.

Databases

Academic Search Premier contains indexing for nearly 8,050 publications, with full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed journals. Academic Search Premier contains full text coverage in biology, chemistry, education, engineering, humanities, physics, psychology, religion and theology, sociology, etc. This resource is available from your library or at home with a library card.
 

Business Source Premier provides the full text for nearly 8,200 journals, some back to 1965, and searchable cited references back as far as 1998. The database also includes other sources of full text information such as country economic reports from the EIU, Global Insight, ICON Group and CountryWatch and detailed company profiles for the world's 10,000 largest companies. This resource is available from your library or at home with a library card.

Consumer Reports Online is a subscription provided by Hearst Library. Access reviews of cars, appliances, electronics, health products and more, the latest issue of the magazine, and other content only available to subscribers. This resource is only available inside your local library. Contact a librarian to log in to the site.

Consumer Health Complete is designed for the everyday consumer of health care information. CHC provides convenient access to easily understandable health and medical information. Consumers can search and browse within medical encyclopedias, popular reference books, and magazine articles. The information provided on Consumer Health Complete™ is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her physician.
