Hearst Library Reader's Group

The next meeting of the Hearst Library Reader’s Group will be on April 20, 2010 at 5:30pm.

Homeschool Library Hour

Tuesdays at 2:15 pm during the school year.

Children in grades 2 through 8 participate in the Prairie Pasque (State Book Award) Program as well as learn what resources are available in the library and how to use them.

Children's Book Awards

Every year the South Dakota Library Association nominates books for awards in the following categories: Prarie Bud (K-3) Prairie Pasque (4-8) and YARP (7th and up).

The winning books are:

Prairie Bud: Chickens to the Rescue by John Himmelman

Prarie Pasque: The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo

YARP Middle School: Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson

YARP High School: Runner by Carl Deuker

Story Break @ the Hearst Library

Story time at the Hearst Library is every Wednesday at 11:15am. Toddlers, Preschoolers, and K-1st are invited to join us for a story and a craft.
